Recently, I was talking with a friend about whether more fundamental research in the social sciences could help us (finally) make meaningful headway on diversity and inclusion in the workplace. He contended that we actually know what we need to know … what we need is for people to act.

This is a great piece on the “action” front. It contains a small bit on the “why” and a lot on the “how,” offering a series of specific actions managers can take in hiring, day-to-day management, and developing team members to overcome implicit bias and other behaviors that tend to lead to non-diverse, non-inclusive outcomes.

Paying attention matters, and mixing things up helps. Take a look and see what patterns you might want to break.
